Vacations Are Important For Your Sanity
In this day in age capitalism has taken its toll on the worker’s sanity. The problem these days with most countries with the exception of a few, is that companies are not giving their employees enough vacation, or employees don’t feel like they can take vacations because they can’t afford it.
One thing that employers (especially in America) need to understand is that offering their employees a sufficient amount of vacation can actually increase productivity. Their have been countless studies on the positive impact that vacationing can have for an employee and their needs to be more employers emphasizing this.
If you are an employee who has one week or less of vacation time, its essential for your health and sanity to find a new job and when you interview you need to negotiate for sufficient vacation time. If you are in your first year at a company it is not uncommon to find an employer that will offer up to 2 weeks of vacation in that first year. Take that time and treat yourself to a trip out of town, out of the state, or even out of the country if you can afford it. If you do the proper research and allow enough time prior to your vacation to get everything squared away, it is very possible to take a vacation without going broke.
A lot of people tend to think that vacations have to be extravagant and cost a ton of money, but this quite simply isn’t true. Most of the time you can find a great vacation spot by driving just a few hours or even less. The only important thing is that you are taking the time away from the rat race to get away from the stuff that wears you out and get rejuvenated. Leave your cell phone at home, leave your computer at home, leave anything that equates to working at home and you will not regret taking the time to get away and you will feel more motivated when you get back to work without a doubt.
